CM Revanth vows to develop Palamuru comprehensively

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the government is committed to develop backward Palamuru district by laying focus on education and irrigation projects.Speaking at the furnace lighting event at SGD — Coming Technologies glass tubing facility in Vemula, Mahabubnagar district, the Chief Minister said opposition parties has stalled Palamuru projects. Development should not be obstructed for political reasons. “If we obstruct development for political reasons, we will be writing our own death warrants,” he said.Mahabubnagar will be developed as a hub of industries to generate employment opportunities for the unemployed youth, he said, urging the district administration to provide details of the land parcels available to set up new factories.Palamuru has emerged as a centre of migrant workers due to lack of access to education and irrigation to the people. None of the project works launched in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh — Palamuru -Rangareddy, Jurala, Nettempadu — were completed. Congress leader Sonia Gandhi sanctioned Palamuru University, but it remained a PG college, he said.“We have sanctioned IIIT to the district along with engineering, law and degree colleges. The government has also approved the setting up of Young India Integrated Residential School in 14 assembly constituencies at the cost of ₹2,800 crore, Mr. Revanth Reddy said.The groundbreaking ceremony for the glass tubing facility was conducted in June and the pharmaceutical tubing production is scheduled to commence in early next year. Corning and SGD Pharma have joined hands to expand pharmaceutical packaging manufacturing in India, especially meet the increasing demand for high-quality primary glass packaging and address global capacity and quality challenges. The facility will produce high-quality Type 1 borosilicate glass tubing, which is used for injectable drug packaging, direct injection delivery systems, diagnostics and biologics, sources said.Published - September 03, 2025 08:57 pm IST
