Namahonje Joy after receiving her tuk tuk in MbalePremier Distilleries Limited (PDL) the manufacturer and distributor of alcoholic beverages, Coffee-flavoured Vodka and Simba Gin, continues to change lives across Uganda as part of their ongoing campaign dubbed Bikole Masavu where they are rewarding lucky customers with life changing prizes. One of the most recent winners is Namahonje Joy, a resident of Mabanga village, Bungokho sub county, Mbale district, who could not hide her excitement after being handed a tuk tuk. Joy, who initially participated in the campaign with the hope of only winning airtime was surprised to learn she had won much more.“I bought Simba Gin and sent the code expecting only airtime. I was so happy when I received it, but the next day I was called and told that I had actually won a tuk tuk. At first, I thought it was a scam. But they kept calling and finally delivered it to me here in Mbale. I can now confirm that the campaign is very real,” Joy shared.Joy said the tuk tuk will not only change her life but also support her family’s livelihood. “My mother is a farmer and this tuk tuk is going to help us transport produce from the farm to the market. I am truly grateful. I encourage my fellow people of Mbale to participate in this campaign because you never know, you could also win.”In Busia town, another lucky winner, Mwite Jalalu Dweru walked away with a brand-new motorcycle. Dweru, who is a builder by profession, narrated how he too was skeptical after being informed of his win.“Honestly, I thought it was my friends playing tricks on me because they had seen me send the code. Even when they called the next day saying they were bringing the motorcycle to me, I still doubted. But now that the motorcycle has been delivered and handed over to me, I believe. This is real,” he said.He added that the motorcycle will ease his transport challenges. “I am going to use it to reach construction sites which will save me money. On days when I don’t have building work, I will operate as a boda boda rider to earn extra income. This prize is going to completely change my life.”Other winners in the Eastern region from last week’s draw include Steven Bwire from Busia who won a brand new smart phone, and Andrew Hamli from Mbale who won UGX 250,000.Speaking during the handover in Mbale City, Bugweri market, the regional distributor for PDL, Venkata Ramireddy, emphasized that the campaign is about giving back to customers who have supported the brands for over two decades.“For the past 20 years, we have been distributing Simba Gin and Coffee Spirit in Mbale and the greater Eastern region. The people here have been loyal customers and the reason we have grown and stood strong all these years. The ‘Bikole Masavu’ campaign is our way of saying thank you and giving back,” Ramireddy noted. He further reiterated the company’s commitment to quality and responsible consumption. “We are committed to providing high quality products and we take customer feedback seriously in order to improve. While we continue to reward our customers, we also encourage everyone to drink responsibly and avoid illicit alcohol.”Bikole Masavu campaign is part of PDL’s broader effort to give back to Ugandans as the company marks 25 years in business. Consumers can participate by purchasing a bottle of either Coffee Flavoured Vodka or Simba Gin, checking under the cap for a unique code, SMS it to 6688 for a chance to win instantly and weekly prizes including smartphones, TVs, motorcycles, tuk tuks, mobile money, airtime and a grand prize of 50 million Ugandan Shillings.
