Former Prime Minister and President Eddie Fenech Adami has been admitted to hospital and is currently in stable condition, according to the Nationalist Party.In a statement, the party said Fenech Adami was admitted earlier on Tuesday for observation after experiencing health complications. It added that his condition is stable.PN leader Alex Borg has been in contact with Fenech Adami’s family and was briefed on his condition.Fenech Adami, aged 92, is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Malta’s modern political history.He served as Prime Minister between 1987 and 1996, and again from 1998 to 2004, leading the country through a period of major political and economic change. His tenure is closely associated with Malta’s accession to the European Union in 2004.Following his resignation as prime minister, he was appointed President of Malta later that year, serving a five-year term.The PN wished him a speedy recovery.•
