Sam Allardyce has questioned whether Harry Maguire would consider a World Cup call-up amid recent comments from Thomas Tuchel.The Manchester United defender has played for England across three major tournaments and earned 65 caps for his country.Tuchel does not have Maguire as one of his top four centre-backs at EnglandGettyMaguire played the entirety of their 1-1 draw with Uruguay on Friday, but doubt has been cast over his future as a regular international.Head coach Tuchel appeared to hint that the 33-year-old ranks fifth in his centre-back pecking order.Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi, John Stones and Trevoh Chalobah were the names that Tuchel claimed are ahead of him.When reacting to the comments on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, ex-England boss Allardyce said: “A bit harsh, that.”He added: “Harry says, it might have been to his own detriment, says (he) doesn’t cause a problem. “I mean, all the s*** he had to put up with at Man United, and how they tried to belittle him, particularly the manager.“Then what he’s come and proven now by his performances… we’re talking about two seasons here. He’s been left out the team, he’s lost his captaincy, he’s lost his England place.”“As a professional, you’ve got to admire him,” Allardyce claimed. “And sometimes you wonder he’s being too nice. He should be getting out there, banging that door and saying, ‘Well, if I ain’t here, where am I going?
