Willi Walsh: Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo has announced the appointment of William "Willie" Walsh as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective August 3, 2026. Walsh, the current Director General of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and former CEO of British Airways and IAG, succeeds Pieter Elbers, who resigned on March 11. The transition follows a period of operational challenges for the airline.
