NAIROBI, Kenya Apr 1 – Police in Mlolongo have arrested two officers following the reported loss of a firearm and mobile phone in a late-night incident involving social drinking at a Nairobi entertainment venue.According to a police report, one of the officers attached to the Speaker of the County Assembly in Kirinyaga and serving at Kerugoya Police Station, stated that on Saturday, he travelled from Kerugoya to Mlolongo where he met his colleague, alongside another man.The group later proceeded to Quivers Lounge along Mombasa Road in Syokimau, where they were reportedly drinking.The officer claims he went for a short call but later suspects he was drugged and lost consciousness.He alleges he was later assisted by the other officers into a vehicle and taken to a residence in the Mamluki area of Mlolongo.Upon waking up the following morning, he reportedly discovered that his Jericho pistol, Magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition and a mobile phone were missing.Police officers from Mlolongo Police Station and detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) visited Quivers Lounge and reviewed CCTV footage.Preliminary findings reportedly show the complainant arriving at the lounge at about 2203hrs and consuming drinks with a room mate.It further showed the officer being carried by a bouncer identified as Fredy and another man, Peter, into a vehicle driven by the other officers.Following preliminary investigations, both officers were arrested as investigations continue.
