ITV Racing tips and preview (Friday, April 3, 2026)

Wait 5 sec.

I love Good Friday! The prize money on offer for All-Weather Finals Day is always decent and it attracts good fields and a high quality of racing. It is a shame we have lost Chelmsford but Lingfield and Newcastle keep the show on the road and I have found us some really good angles in. Plenty of double-figure prices for us so hopefully we can back up the profit we banked from last weekend. There are eleven races live on ITV Racing on Friday and I have gone through each one in detail and have included main dangers to my bets and anything that is worth an each way saver as like I have said already tons of value on offer. Also it will be worth shopping around for extra places given the big fields throughout the day.Top horse racing offerITV Racing (Friday) tipsLingfield 1.30 Lady Dora Mae – 5/2 with bet365Newcastle 1.50 Al Najashi – 4/1 with bet365Lingfield 2.05 Shrimp Shady – 9/2 each way with bet365Newcastle 2.25 Stateira – 7/4 with Ladbrokes NAPLingfield 2.40 Carbine Harvester – 7/1 each way with BetfredNewcastle 3.00 The Lost King – 9/2 with BoyleSportsLingfield 3.15 Great Bedwyn – 14/1 each way with BoyleSportsNewcastle 3.35 Sarab Star – 7/1 each way with CoralLingfield 3.50 Talis Evolvere – 13/2 with BetfredNewcastle 4.10 Regal Ulixes – 9/4 with BoyleSports NEXT BESTNewcastle 4.42 Tribal Star – 14/1 each way with bet365Joe’s best horse racing betting tips for ITV Racing on Good Friday (3rd April)Find my top tips for Friday 3rd April March 2026 racing with odds from the best horse racing bookies below:Lingfield 1.30 BetMGM All-Weather Vase Fillies’ Handicap (Class 4) 7fI’m keen to start the day with a winner! LADY DORA MAE arrives on a hat-trick and with more to come over 7f she looks a great bet to go in again. She justified strong support to win at Southwell and then did well to follow up at Kempton on handicap debut splitting rivals late to get there. That small field probably counted against her so with a more genuine pace on here I can see her finishing strongly and she is worth keeping on side.Cool Molly is a really honest type and she has won 2 of her last 4 and only missed a head at Newcastle last month. She arrives fit and at the top of her game so should give the favourite something to think about at least.Party Bear would be dangerous if getting a soft lead but I can see both Handle With Care and Bella Bisbee going forward so they could end up setting it up for the selection. Bet on LADY DORA MAE to Win at 5/2 with bet365 Newcastle 1.50 BetMGM All-Weather 3 Year Old Championships Handicap (Class 2) 6fThis is arguably the most competitive race of the day and I found it hard to split the top pair. AL NAJASHI just about gets the verdict as he has won his last four and despite his new mark kicking in he could still be capable of extending that winning run.Billy Loughnane is an eye-catching booking and his trainer Ollie Sangster has spoke highly of the horse and has said he is expecting another big run.Silent Strike looked good winning at Kempton but he was obviously entitled to. He went down half a length at Newcastle but still looked inexperienced and there should be plenty more to come now handicapping. At a bigger price Northern Empire won well at Lingfield and has likely been put away for this since so is another big player and might be worth an each way saver. Bet on AL NAJASHI at 4/1 with bet365 Lingfield 2.05 Midnite All-Weather Vase Marathon Handicap (Class 4) 2mAfter some frustrating efforts in defeat SHRIMP SHADY finally came good again at Wolverhampton last month. He just about held on that day but it was still a good effort and he is the type to improve again now tackling two miles. He is a big horse with plenty of size and scope so I think there could be quite a bit of improvement yet and I’d expect him to go close with Andrew Balding in great form.St Faz is likely to go off favourite having gone 3-3 for this yard at Southwell last month. He has top-weight here though and it won’t be easy.Selenic is a nice filly for Sir Mark Prescott and she hasn’t been disgraced since winning at Newcastle at the start of the year and could be capable of running a big race especially over this trip now. Bet on SHRIMP SHADY Each Way at 9/2 with bet365 Newcastle 2.25 BetMGM Fillies’ And Mares’ Championships Handicap (Class 2) 7fMy best bet of the day runs here in the shape of STATEIRA. This filly is a perfect 2-2 at this track and was mightily impressive winning by 4 lengths over C&D when last seen. She has been freshened up with this the target all season and despite the 10lb rise should have a great chance to follow up under Oisin Murphy with this trip looking her optimum.Carolina Jetstream has won her last two and has thrived since joining this yard. She drops back to 7f here but that shouldn’t bother her and I see her as the danger despite being another 4lb higher.Fiercely competitive past them two but Ziggy’s Queen might be one to play on the extra places as she is in good form. Bet on STATEIRA to Win at 7/4 with Ladbrokes Lingfield 2.40 Midnite All-Weather Vase Sprint Handicap (Class 3) 6f1yAnother tricky race to try and dissect and while my heart will be cheering on Apache Outlaw for Dooley Thoroughbreds he hasn’t won for a while and I’m quite surprised to see him feature so prominently in the betting.I prefer CARBINE HARVESTER at a bigger price. He himself has failed to fire the last twice but freshened up and down to a mark of 87 now with Jack Callan claiming 5lb I can see him bouncing back in a big way.Dark Ace is the form horse having won at Wolverhampton last month and should run well again especially if there is a good pace on. Betsen wasn’t beaten far in a race that has worked out well at Wolverhampton so second time out following a wind op is another one who should get competitive. Bet on CARBINE HARVESTER Each Way at 7/1 with Betfred Newcastle 3.00 BetMGM All-Weather Championships Mile Handicap (Class 2) 1mThis is one of the most interesting races of the day and there are any of 3 or 4 you could back here given their recent form. I’m sticking with THE LOST KING as I think he is capable of an even bigger performance. The yard won this last year with Storm Star and this son of Kingman arrives in great form. He has won 2 of his last 3 and was value for more at Wolverhampton last month. This test should be ideal and his form is stacking up so plenty to like.Chancellor is the one I’m most fearful of here. He beat Tyrrhenian Sea in good style at Southwell and then missed just a neck to Sky Safari at Lingfield. He is progressive and can do better again back down to a mile here.He will run a massive race and I might end up covering him as well on the day. Tyrrhenian Sea also lined up and has the form to get involved too and Shafdar is also another one to note. Bet on THE LOST KING at 9/2 with BoyleSports Lingfield 3.15 Midnite All-Weather Vase Middle Distance Handicap (Class 3) 1m2fAfter much deliberation I’ve decided to take a chance on one at a huge price here in the shape of GREAT BEDWYN for Richard Hannon. The stable have made a fast start to the Flat season and this 6yo was an eye-catcher beaten less than two lengths at Kempton last month. He is below his last winning mark and if building on that here could be a big player. This trip is probably on the sharp side but if they go hard he could come into it late.Unterberg is flying arriving on a four-timer but the handicapper applies more pressure and while he could run well this is definitely a tougher ask.Londoner is capable of running well but again from a win perspective his mark still looks stiff. He ran well beaten just a length last time though so looks an each way player in another open contest. Bet on GREAT BEDWYN Each Way at 14/1 with Boylesports Newcastle 3.35 Midnite All-Weather Sprint Handicap (Class 2) 6fIrish raider Sir Les Patterson will have his supporters here but a further hike in the weights and racing away from Dundalk I can’t help but feel he will need a career best to come out on top here.I prefer SARAB STAR as I don’t think they’ve got to the bottom of this colt. He has won 3 from 6 overall and a strongly run 6f could prove to be his optimum.A muddling race didn’t suit at Kempton but he ran well going down half a length. He has more to come off his current mark and I fancy him to take a bit of beating.Marshman is a very useful yardstick and he was an excellent third in this 12 months ago beaten just over a length. He looks the solid one who will be bang there again.Lakers also catches the eye but will probably need everything to drop right to come out on top but in terms of a place I’m finding it hard to keep him out the frame. Pocklington isn’t always the easiest but is another one with the ability to land a blow. Bet on SARAB STAR Each Way at 7/1 with Coral Lingfield 3.50 BetMGM All-Weather Vase Mile Handicap (Class 3) 1mTwelve horses heading to post but hard to rule any of these out in truth! I’ve taken a chance on TALIS EVOLVERE for Richard Hannon. The yard are in form and I thought that narrow defeat to Nikovo at Newcastle was a really good run. He is clearly thriving on his racing and he has won off a higher mark in the past so should be seriously competitive.Borgi is on a hat-trick and is likeable but definitely faces tougher competition now. The Dragon King would be a big player if returning to the form of his penultimate start. He didn’t back that up last time but it is still fairly early days and he is more unexposed than most in here. Bet on TALIS EVOLVERE at 13/2 with Betfred Newcastle 4.10 Midnite All-Weather Easter Classic Middle Distance Handicap (Class 2) 1m2fI know connections have always thought a lot of REGAL ULIXES and with the potential to improve again back up to a mile and a quarter he looks the one to side with here.He was impressive beating Beylerbeyi at Lingfield on penultimate start and then wasn’t beaten far back in trip behind The Lost King last time. He is off an unchanged mark and on just his eighth career start the best looks yet to come.Gaucher has won 3 of his last 4 and impressed at Dundalk last time but I’m not sure he beat a great deal and he will definitely be tested more here. Saying that he could still be the danger making the trip over with Billy the kid booked. At a huge price Antrim is still unexposed and back on these shores having been racing over in Dubai is another one to note. Bet on REGAL ULIXES to win at 9/4 with BoyleSports Newcastle 4.42 Midnite All-Weather Easter Plate Marathon Handicap (Class 2) 2m56yI’m really bullish on one here at a big price in the shape of TRIBAL STAR. He ran over an inadequate trip at Dundalk last time and certainly wasn’t disgraced behind Gaucher at Dundalk. This step back up to 2 miles is ideal and he looks handicapped to have a big say in the finish here. The market has largely ignored him too so at double figures he is worth chancing to bounce back. Aido McGuinness is making the trip over to Newcastle and I know connections are really hopeful of a big performance.Beylerbeyi will go off favourite and deservedly so on what we’ve seen. He bumped into Regal Ulixes last time which is very good form and this step back up in trip will suit so he should run well under Billy Loughnane and take a bit of beating. Dramatic Star is the other one that catches the eye going back up in trip here. Bet on TRIBAL STAR Each Way at 14/1 with bet365 My top tip for ITV Racing on Good FridayI can see owner Gary Gillies landing a nice double on Good Friday! STATEIRA looks hugely progressive and I know they have put her away with this in mind so she should take a lot of beating. REGAL ULIXES also looks to have a great chance with the step back up in trip a massive positive. The double pays 8/1 which looks well worth getting stuck into.
