Toronto police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted in an arson investigation after a vehicle was deliberately set on fire at the University of Toronto’s (U of T) St. George campus early Tuesday morning.Officers were called to the area around 12:53 a.m. on March 31 after reports of a vehicle engulfed in flames. According to police, an unknown male approached the vehicle and intentionally set it on fire before fleeing the scene. The motive remains unclear, and investigators have not said whether the vehicle belonged to a student, staff member, or visitor.The fire was extinguished before it could spread, but police say the damage to the vehicle was extensive. No injuries were reported.The incident is being treated as a targeted act of arson, police said.Police released images of the suspect, describing the male as approximately five feet, ten inches to six feet tall, with a slim build, short black hair and was last seen wearing a beige hoodie, grey jeans, black shoes, and a beige toque. He was also carrying a backpack with a tattered Canadian flag.Investigators say the man was last spotted leaving the area shortly after the fire was set.Anyone with information is asked to contact TPS investigators.
