V.S. Ilanthirai, Higher Administrative Grade officer of Indian Telecom Services 1992 batch, has assumed charge of chief general manager (CGM), BSNL, Tamil Nadu Circle.He started his career in Electronic Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) at Hyderabad, and he was the first engineer to install the laser trimming robotics machine from Chicago, U.S. at ECIL Hyderabad.He has also served Indian Telephone Industries (ITI), Bangalore, and associated himself in all the telecom products and total solutions covering the whole spectrum of switching, transmission, access and subscriber premises equipment.He was also leading and managing various projects of installations & commissioning of French Telecom (E10B) products for Department of Telecom in many parts of the country.Published - April 02, 2026 01:02 am IST
