KARACHI: A fire broke out at the Finance & Trade Center (FTC) building in Karachi near Baloch Colony Bridge on Shahrah-e-Faisal, affecting an office on the first floor and filling parts of the structure with heavy smoke, ARY News reported.According to reports, the FTC Building in Karachi houses multiple offices across several floors, and the incident triggered an immediate response as people present in the lower floors were evacuated. Some individuals were reportedly still present on the upper floors as operations continued.Fire officials said the blaze originated on the first floor, where a gym and adjoining rooms were located. The FTC Building in Karachi is a multi-storey commercial structure with more than 10 floors, and the fire primarily impacted the lower and mid-level sections before being contained.Authorities confirmed that several fire tenders along with a snorkel were dispatched to the FTC building in Karachi. Firefighting teams managed to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further to other parts of the building.While the fire itself has been largely brought under control, thick smoke continues to fill the FTC building in Karachi, creating difficulties for rescue teams. Ventilation equipment has been deployed, and windows have been opened to clear the smoke from affected floors, including the first and second floors.Officials said it will take additional time to fully ventilate and secure the FTC building in Karachi, as smoke removal operations are ongoing.
