Google Photos finally comes to Samsung TVs, but there’s a catch

Wait 5 sec.

Earlier this year, Samsung announced Google Photos support for its TVs, replacing OneDrive integration. Now that its 2026 TV lineup has started going on sale in select countries globally, Google Photos is officially available on those models. Google has also shared more details about how the experience works on Samsung TVs.Google Photos is now available on all Samsung TVs launched in 2026. With this integration, users can view their photos and videos on a larger screen directly from their Google Photos library. Content can be accessed through the Daily+ row, the Daily+ app launcher, and the Now Brief widget.Google says the integration has been designed specifically for large TV screens. A QR code is displayed on the TV's screen, and you can scan it using your phone to select which types of memories appear on the TV. You can choose to hide specific people, pets, or dates from highlights for better privacy. You can even hide a specific image or video by clicking the Hide option below that memory. In the Daily+ row, users can scroll through a curated selection of photos and videos that refresh automatically. For a more immersive experience, the Google Photos app can be opened in full-screen mode from the Daily+ app launcher.Samsung is also bringing the Now Brief feature to its TVs. Originally introduced with the Galaxy S25 series, this AI-powered feature recommends photos and videos from your Google Photos library, encouraging you to revisit past memories. You can skip forward, go backward, or pause a photo using the TV's remote controller. It is still unclear whether Samsung plans to extend Google Photos support to older TV models. This feature will be particularly great for The Frame series TVs, as your memories can look like actual photo frames in your home. Check Samsung TV Deals Samsung Store
