It's been a long time coming, but after years of waiting, Samsung's blood pressure monitoring feature is finally rolling out for Galaxy Watches in the United States.Blood pressure monitoring is going live starting today, March 31, through a phased rollout. It will reach more users gradually.How does Samsung's blood pressure monitoring feature work?The blood pressure monitor is one of the more demanding Samsung Health features, as it can't be used out of the box without extra accessories — or one, to be precise.Before you can use it on your Galaxy Watch, you need to calibrate the wearable and define a baseline measurement using a blood pressure upper arm cuff.To maintain accuracy over time, Galaxy Watch users are required to recalibrate their devices with a cuff every 28 days.Samsung's Health Monitor app also has to be installed on the connected smartphones via the Galaxy Store.Once these requirements are met, you can measure and read your blood pressure directly from your wrist or through the Health Monitor app on your phone.Blood pressure monitoring is going live in the USA for the Galaxy Watch 4 and later models. Wear OS 4.0 and Android 12 or higher are required on the watch and the connected smartphone.If you need a smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Watch Ultra (2025) are available in the USA and are perfectly capable of running this feature.
