The pop star’s song, “Elizabeth Taylor,” was the latest Life of a Showgirl track to receive a music video. The video, released on March 31, contained several clips from Taylor’s life as a Hollywood starlet. According to Variety, the singer’s video included clips across the late actress’s filmography, including Cleopatra, Father of the Bride, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Place in the Sun, Julia Misbehaves, and Boom!.It’s not too surprising that “Elizabeth Taylor” received a music video—the track is a beloved fan-favorite from The Life of a Showgirl, and Swift herself has revealed that she developed a fondness for the late Hollywood star after Taylor’s son, Chris Wilding, said kind words about her in a 2024 interview with The Guardian.“I can’t tell you how much I admire Taylor Swift. I’m now a Swifty. [Her Instagram post] at the end of that presidential debate was so fucking great,” he said at the time. “Huge props to her. That reminds me a little bit of the same spirit my mom had.”In a 2025 interview with Pandora following the release of The Life of a Showgirl, Swift referenced Wilding’s comments and said, “my parents sent me this clip of Elizabeth Taylor’s son saying something very flattering, that if there were one person he might compare to his mother in the modern day, in terms of persona and…the chaos around us, he said it would be me. I was so flattered by that. I just immediately started talking to Travis about it.”View full post on InstagramShe added, “I was going on and on about Elizabeth Taylor, talking about all the things about her that I loved…how she kept challenging herself late into her life. I had to get out of the car, I was like, ‘One sec, I have to get out of the car for a second,’ and I just sang this melody into my phone, got back in the car and…that’s what it’s like when it happens.”The full “Elizabeth Taylor” video is available to watch on Spotify and Apple Music for premium users.
