Just 11 minutes ago, a 2.9-magnitude earthquake struck near Lake Argyle, Wyndham-East Kimberley, Western Australia, Australia. The tremor was recorded early evening on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, at 6:46 pm local time, at a moderately shallow depth of 30 miles below the surface.The event was filed by Geoscience Australia (GeoAu), the first seismological agency to report it.A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.0 earthquake. A third agency, the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, reported the same quake at magnitude 3.0.According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage.
