ShareAfter winning the Texas Derby before the international break, FC Dallas return to MLS action against D.C. United at Audi Field this weekend.Eric Quill believes his FC Dallas side are only going to get better in the MLS this season due to their dog-like mentality that was on show in their Texas Derby triumph. Quill watched on as his team came on top in a seven-goal thriller against the Houston Dynamo last time out, as Petar Musa's 86th-minute winner sealed a 4-3 victory. Dallas have taken eight points from their five league games and are eighth in the Western Conference after picking up their second league win before the international break. They make the trip to face D.C. United at Audi Field this weekend, and Quill believes that his players are in a strong place in trying to build something special in 2026. "We've used this mantra a million times, we're dogs man," Quill told reporters. "We're a bunch of dogs in this organisation. We work hard, and we care deeply about our goals. "Their resilience is evident. In our first four games, you can't help but see a group of dogs who will come back from anything. Nothing will faze us. That's what winners do. "Winners find a way. We've got big ambitions. We have ambitions to be somebody in this league. I told these guys that the scary thing is we are only going to get even better."D.C., meanwhile, were held to their first draw of the campaign last time out, playing out a goalless stalemate against Atlanta United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Both teams struggled to create any clear-cut chances, with the overall expected goals (xG) total generated by both teams reaching just 0.48 (0.31 Atlanta to 0.17 D.C.). Rene Weiler's side did, however, hit the woodwork twice through Caden Clark and Brandon Servania late in the game, but the D.C. boss conceded a draw was a fair result. "I think it's a fair point for both teams," Weiler said. "I don't think it was the best game for the fans because there were not a lot of goalmouth chances for either side. "In the end, it was fair and a good point for us. Defensively, they confirmed the good performances over the last few weeks. We were incredibly solid defensively. "We have conceded four goals in five games and have only played once at Audi Field. That is amazing and not only from our defenders, but the entire team."PLAYERS TO WATCHD.C.
