By: Express News ServiceNoida | November 20, 2025 06:22 AM IST 2 min readAdditional Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP (Greater Noida) Sudhir Kumar said that while the exact cause of the collapse was being probed, preliminary investigation pointed towards structural weakness.One labourer died and several others were injured after the third-floor slab of an under-construction house collapsed in Nagla Hukam Singh village under Rabupura police station limits on Wednesday, officers said.The incident occurred around 12 pm on Wednesday when workers were removing the shuttering of the newly cast roof, causing it to suddenly collapse, trapping multiple labourers under the debris.Police said that the deceased labourer, identified as Zeeshan (22), a resident of Rawal Patti, was pulled out from the rubble in critical condition. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, officers said.Police said that the building under construction belonged to one Mahavir Singh. “We believe that several labourers from Madhya Pradesh were also present at the site during the incident. We rescued five of these labourers and are now verifying their identities. All five have been shifted to a nearby hospital for primary treatment,” said the officersState Disaster Response Force(SDRF) personnel and local police, along with villagers, joined efforts to remove debris and rescue those trapped.Among the injured were Danish (21), a resident of Shakarpur, Aligarh; Fardeen (18),Shakeel (38), Kamil (20),and Nadeem (30), — all residents of Rawal Patti, Nai Basti, under Jewar police station limits.Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP (Greater Noida) Sudhir Kumar said that while the exact cause of the collapse was being probed, preliminary investigation pointed towards structural weakness. “A detailed inquiry will be conducted to determine whether safety protocols were followed at the construction site.
