‘I’ve never been so confused’: Man has bizarre encounter with woman who traps him in an elevator and accuses him of following her

Wait 5 sec.

Sometimes we find ourselves in a situation that’s just so out of left field it’s difficult to even know how to respond. One guy on TikTok found himself in such a situation after a woman accused him of following her, however, from what can be seen it looks to be almost the opposite as she has him cornered in a lift and won’t let him go. TikToker, “vitalywastaken,” recorded the awkward encounter in a tube station elevator as a woman blocked the door of the elevator, preventing it from taking him up. He can be heard asking the woman, “what is going on?” To which she responds, “I see you following me,” repeatedly while she gets her own phone out to record. Eventually other people arrive wanting to use the elevator and a staff member at the station notices and tells the woman to let the doors close. She protests, and starts accusing Vitaly of being “racist.” She also tries to explain to the station employee that “he followed me all the way down.” As she turns to speak the doors close before she can intervene (although she does try). @vitalywastaken simulation glitch ♬ original sound – vitalywastaken What was that all about? Obviously we don’t have the full context here, who knows what happened before Vitaly started recording, although the woman’s argument doesn’t really seem to hold much water. First of all, if he had been following her, why wouldn’t she let the lift go with him inside, that would put some distance between them which is exactly what you’d want if you were being followed.  One commenter also pointed out that, as it was a tube station, there would only have been one direction to go. London tube stations are essentially a series of long tunnels that either take you to your platform, or the exit, meaning it would have been hard to take a different route anyway. Whatever the case, holding the elevator simply doesn’t make any sense and furthermore she’s causing more of an inconvenience for people who do need to use it as she refuses to get out of the way of the doors. Viewers were equally confused. “If he’s following her why won’t she let him go up?” Asked one. Others made jabs ot the woman who is really giving off Karen vibes throughout the whole vid, “Me with my main character syndrome,” one person wrote, “When it closed and she saw you going up felt so satisfying.” While some did ask to hear her side of the story it’s unlikely we’ll get to hear it unless she sees Vitaly’s TikTok and makes a response of her own.
