(Photo: ANI)Shimla Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap on Wednesday filed a police complaint after he found out that online fraudsters were impersonating him using his name and photograph on WhatsApp.The complaint was lodged with Shimla Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Gandhi.According to officials, the impersonator was operating through the mobile number showing Vietnam and had been contacting people posing as the Deputy Commissioner.The DC said such misuse could lead to miscommunication, harassment or financial fraud.In his written complaint, Kashyap stated that an unidentified person was “fraudulently using my name and photograph on WhatsApp,” and urged the police to take immediate legal and technical action.He also requested the Cyber Cell to trace the person behind the impersonation.
