Benjamin Sesko is set to be out for around a month with a knee injury. The Slovenian was one of a number of Manchester United players who failed to last the 90 minutes in a 2-2 Premier League draw with Tottenham on November 8. A timescale on Sesko’s recovery depends on his rehabilitation, however, it’s expected he will be sidelined for between three to five weeks. However, he is set to near a return by the time fellow Red Devils forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo fly away to represent Cameroon and the Ivory Coast respectively at the Africa Cup of Nations.AFCON, which starts on December 11, spans six Premier League fixtures for Man United (Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United, Burnley, Manchester City) as well as an FA Cup third round tie. Injury fearThe news on Sesko’s knock to the knee will hardly be welcomed but perhaps Amorim will perhaps be relieved that the 22-year-old won’t be absent for longer.Harry Maguire and Casemiro both were both also forced off, but when asked by Sam Matterface about Sesko’s 58th minute withdrawal, he said after the match: “I don’t know, we have to check.“He was kicking the ball and he touched the ground – we are really concerned about him because we don’t know.”The Portuguese was keen to stay positive, though, continuing: “I want to finish in a positive way, we are ready to come back. “When you pass something like last year with a lot of problems with a lot of players you are ready for everything.“So we are really confident that no matter who is available for the next game we will be there with our fans.”Amorim, who is often very critical of his team and particularly himself, was keen to stay on a high note thanks to Matthijs de Ligt’s equaliser in the sixth minute of stoppage time when it looked like Spurs had won 2-1.Sesko couldn’t continue after receiving treatment late in the second halfGettyAddressing the positives, he said: “I think we can divide the game and I will start with the positives because I think my players always think I’m negative because I’m always looking for things to improve. “Everything that happened in the last ten minutes, to manage to score a goal, to understand how we are going to score a goal, get the ball in the final third, win a corner and let’s go score, that thing is massive for us.“It doesn’t matter what happens, we are not going to lose the game and to have that feeling is really good.“Then the rest of the game I felt the team really comfortable, but we cannot feel comfortable, we have to kill the game.“You can feel the environment and the space that we have, we need to have more of that killer instinct to realise the game is there to have the three points.“But in the end to overcome the situation it was a good point.”Amorim’s side are unbeaten in their last five matchesAFPThe big picture for Manchester UnitedUnited ultimately ended the match with ten players as injuries kept on coming with all five substitutes used.Yet the Red Devils extended their unbeaten streak to five games, and Amorim insisted this is still only the start.“Sometimes when we win games people think that we are there but we are far from there,” he added.United could’ve moved up to second with a win away at Spurs“The small details we are improving, and it’s good for the players to sense that we could’ve won, and our fans recognise that effort, and that is a good feeling for everybody.”United’s first game back from the international break sees them entertain Everton on Monday November 24, live on talkSPORT.
