KARACHI: Senior provincial minister Sharjeel Memon on Wednesday said that the transport department upgrading the system in entire Sindh.Talking to media minister said that the government taking key decisions for women empowerment in the province. “We have launched pink buses for women, now the pink buses also being plied in BRT.Sharjeel Memon said that pink buses are the first initiative in any of Pakistan’s bus rapid transport.Provincial minister said that Double Decker and EV buses consignments are coming in the next week.“Transport department is also engaged in talks for ‘free bike service’ for special people,” senior minister said. “The double decker buses will only run over Shahrah-e-Faisal in the city,” he further said.He said Shehbaz Sharif when became prime minister, he had promised to provide buses in his first visit of Karachi. “I request the prime minister to fulfill his promise”.“We are also thinking about transgender people and a bike service will be launched for them,” he further said.Sharjeel Memon said that in the 27th Amendment all provinces have been given equal representation. He said the constitutional court was also promised in the Charter of Democracy.He said the amendment has been a good step and it should not be criticized. “The bar associations have also appreciated the 27th Amendment”.“It is not a bad thing if the courts are subordinated to the parliament,” he said.
