Abraham Luzzi, the aspiring Kampala Central Member of Parliament, has taken aim at Uganda’s entertainment industry, accusing many artists of living beyond their means and failing to convert their fame into sustainable income. Luzzi argued that although Uganda is filled with talented and widely celebrated entertainers, very few have mastered the art of turning stardom into a profitable business. He claims many artists focus more on portraying glamorous lifestyles rather than building real financial value behind their names. He criticized this trend as deceptive and self-sabotaging.You’ve failed to turn your fame into a commercial benefit. Many of you live fake lives. Stop it. You pretend to live rich lives, but you’re truly nothing. Go get involved and stop being beggars. Get involved in government projects, but all you do is just being beggars.Luzzi went on to argue that some of Uganda’s biggest entertainment brands are “as light as a bag of aunt feathers,” suggesting that fame without financial or strategic backing is meaningless. He urged artists to seek professional guidance and invest in expertise that can help transform their brands into profitable ventures. He further advised them to reflect on how international celebrities conduct themselves, focusing on professionalism, discipline, and long-term brand building rather than short-term publicity stunts. Some of you have big names and brands, but your worth is as light as a bag of aunt feathers. You need to consult some of us on how to make your brands weigh your worth. Celebrities in different nations don’t behave like you. You’re always involved in petty fights, which are cheap and useless.Luzzi also encouraged artists to behave professionally if they want to attract lucrative deals, including ambassadorial roles and corporate partnerships. Azawi cautions rising artists to stay away from established musiciansHe emphasized that artists must have competent commercial managers capable of monetizing their fame, negotiating sponsorships, and managing their public image responsibly. He didn’t hold back when advising male artists in the industry, urging them to stay away from drug abuse, as he also cautioned the females to stop sleeping with everyone. “Behave well and you will earn millions of money. Male artists stay away from drugs.” @sanyukatvug VIDEO: Artists often portray a life that isn’t real,” says Abraham Luzzi, offering guidance for those in the industry. #SanyukaOneOnOne #SanyukaUpdates ♬ original sound – Sanyuka TV The post Stop being beggers – Abraham Luzzi urges Ugandan artists appeared first on MBU.
