The two were supposed to tie the knot today. However, the ceremony has now been called off without a new date being set.Speaking to reporters, Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, said that the cricketer’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, felt slightly unwell during breakfast on Sunday morning. Although they waited for a while to see if he would get better, his condition only worsened as time went by. “Then we decided not to take any risks. So, we called an ambulance and shifted him to the hospital. He is currently under observation. As Smriti is extremely close to her father, she has decided to indefinitely postpone her wedding until her father’s health returns to normal,” he said. Tuhin added that the doctors have advised keeping him hospitalised for the time being.This unfortunate incident occurred while both families were in a festive mood over the power couple’s wedding. However, their relationship came into the spotlight more recently after Smriti and her teammates led India to a historic victory in the ICC Women’s World Cup. After the victory, Palash shared a picture of Smriti with the trophy and wrote, “Sabse aage hain Hindustani (Indians are way ahead of everyone),” a line out of the popular 1999 anthem “Hindustani.”While Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana were tight-lipped about their impending wedding for the longest time, when he was asked to comment on the same in October, he confirmed that Smriti would soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore, his hometown. Smriti confirmed her engagement to Palash in signature Indian women’s cricket team fashion.
