Wayne Mardle and Dave Clark were left in utter hysterics after a strange interview at the PDC World Darts Championship. The broadcasters simply couldn’t hold back their laughter at Jerry Hendricks’ unexpected comment on his performance. Current world No.177 Hendricks was competing in just his second World Championship in 2017 – and he stole the show post-match. The Dutchman was knocked out by two-time champion Peter Wright in the first round of the competition at Alexandra Palace. But after the match he remained in good spirits, bizarrely saying ‘he felt like a fish’ when playing against Wright. The darts rivals also went on to wish fans a merry Christmas and then embraced with a hug together in front of the camera. However, it was the fish comment that had an impact in the Sky Sports studio, as things quickly unravelled.Host Clark began: “Apparently, he felt like a fish on the stage.”That led to a few chuckles from the broadcasters, before things then went wildly out of control on their coverage.Mardle started to say: “I thought he played superb, he enjoyed it and it was good to see at the end…” But Clark suddenly burst back into laughter and that set off Mardle too, as the pair lost composure. All focus then moved onto the laughing, as the pair went back and forth and Mardle said: “This man can’t control himself!”Clark (right) couldn’t contain his laughter and began the chaos as it also set Mardle (left) offTo which Clark replied: “I can’t pull myself together!”“Shall we talk darts?” Mardle added, trying to suppress his laughter, before Clark then rushed to cut away from the carnage. As both broadcasters continued to laugh, some highlights of Wright’s win over Hendricks began, to take cameras off the studio.Who won the 2017 World Darts Championship? After beating Hendricks, Wright would go on to forge a run for the trophy, reaching the semi-finals.
