An Assistant Engineer with the Telangana South Power Distribution Company (TGSCPDCL) was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Wanaparthy on Tuesday for demanding and accepting a bribe.According to officials, the accused, identified as Narva Harshavardhan Reddy, Assistant Engineer (Operations) at the Gopalpet section under the Wanaparthy division and circle, demanded ₹40,000 and accepted ₹20,000 as part payment from the complainant. The bribe was allegedly sought to sanction a distribution transformer (DTR) for agricultural fields.The ACB officers apprehended him at his office when the money was handed over. The tainted cash of ₹20,000 was recovered from his possession.He was arrested and produced before the special court for ACB cases in Hyderabad.The ACB has urged citizens to report any demand for bribes by public servants through its toll-free number 1064 or via WhatsApp, Facebook, and X.
