A gang of five persons allegedly manufacturing and selling fake educational certificates was busted by the Narsingi police on Saturday.The arrested accused have been identified as Mirza Akhtar Ali Baig alias Aslam, the main manufacturer, Mohammed Ajaz Ahmed, the broker and collector; and buyers Vaddepalli Venkat Sai, Vistala Rohit Kumar and Satthuri Praveen, who had sought fake degrees and B. Tech certificates.Following a tip-off, officers set up a patrol operation in the Chintha Chettu area on November 22 and apprehended the suspects as they arrived to deliver forged documents to customers.Police seized fake degree certificates, memos, transfer certificates, bonafide documents and other records in the names of SRM University and Bangalore City University. The accused had admitted to printing, preparing and selling fabricated educational credentials to people looking to secure educational or employment benefits for monetary gain.All five accused were produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.
