The body of a 52-year-old man was found washed ashore at the Papanasam beach in Varkala on Sunday.The Ayiroor police identified the deceased as Binu of Pazhayachantha. The body was first spotted by a group of fishermen early in the morning while they were out at sea, following which they alerted the Coastal police.Soon, the Ayiroor police began an inquiry to determine whether anyone in the station limits had been reported missing, and subsequently identified the deceased.Preliminary inquiry found there had been a dispute between Binu and his wife at their home prior to his disappearance. Binu was later found to be missing, and no further information about his whereabouts emerged until the discovery of the body.Published - November 23, 2025 08:00 pm IST
