Electricity is expected to become cheaper by 65 paisa per unit across Pakistan, as the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted its request for the monthly fuel adjustment for October 2025.As per details, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will conduct a hearing on the CPPA’s application on 27 November. The reduction will also be applicable to K-Electric consumers.According to the CPPA, power distribution companies were supplied 9.63 billion units of electricity in October.The per-unit cost of electricity during the month stood at Rs 8.71.In October, 27.36% of electricity was generated from hydel sources and 22.13% from nuclear fuel. Nuclear power remained the cheapest source at Rs 2.17 per unit.Additionally, 12.76% of electricity was produced from local coal, 4.71% from imported coal, 9.16% from local gas, and 19.72% from imported LNG.Earlier, the NEPRA issued its decision on the Central Power Purchasing Agency–Guaranteed (CPPA-G) petition for the monthly Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) for September 2025.The relief of Rs 0.4812 per kilowatt-hour (kWh was passed on to consumers in their November 2025 electricity bills.The notified FCA will also apply to K-Electric (KE) consumers under the tariff rationalization mechanism, as approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on August 19, 2025.
