US President Donald Trump has designated Saudi Arabia as a major Non-NATO Ally during meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.The U.S. President hosted a dinner at the White House in honour of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which was also attended by Elon Musk and Cristiano Ronaldo.Speaking at the ceremony President Donald Trump stated that the United States has signed significant defense agreements with Saudi Arabia, and that the Kingdom will invest one trillion dollars in the United States.He asserted that Saudi Arabia and the United States share historic and longstanding ties, which his administration aims to further strengthen.President Trump added that Saudi Arabia is now more secure than ever, and expressed confidence that Iran, too, would seek an agreement with the United States.In his address, the Crown Prince thanked Donald Trump for the warm hospitality, adding that Saudi Arabia has enjoyed excellent relations with the United States for nine decades.Salman promised on Tuesday to increase his country’s US investment to $1 trillion from a $600 billion pledge he made when Trump visited Saudi Arabia in May. But he offered no details or timetable.Talks between the two leaders looked set to advance security ties, civil nuclear cooperation and multibillion-dollar business deals with the kingdom.Trump told reporters that the two countries had reached a “defense agreement,” without providing details, and that Saudi Arabia would buy advanced US-made F-35 fighter jets.
