In October 2026, Seishonen Guyana, an event management business, began its inaugural Fuma School in partnership with MODEC Guyana INC.The Fuma School Tour draws inspiration from FumaCon’s successful history of organising workshops, which have included diverse topics such as drone technology, Jiujutsu, and comic book creation, with support from stakeholders including the Embassies of Japan and Brazil. Since 2023, FumaCon has hosted workshops at the Guyana Marriott Hotel, focusing on art, technology, empowerment, craft, cultural awareness, and martial arts. FumaCon is the premier location for an authentic anime convention experience on par with international conventions in Guyana. The Fuma School Tour is a six-week, skills-based training project where Guyanese facilitators visit six schools to deliver sessions based on cosplay craftmanship, 3D printing, drone technology, comic book making, public speaking and internet safety.Part of the FumaCon school tourOur goal is to ensure that the next generation of creatives, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers develops a well-rounded education through our Fuma School Tour.FumaCon is proud to introduce its Fueling the Future Initiative, a gesture aimed at fostering a stronger sense of community among a generation of thinkers, dreamers, and changemakers. At the conclusion of every school stop, we will give participating students a complimentary FumaCon kids pass for our upcoming event, FumaCon, held on July 4th & 5th, 2026, at the Guyana Marriott Hotel. This kids’ pass covers both days for teenagers to immerse themselves in creativity, culture and entrepreneurship through our event activities and cultural partners.Through this effort, we hope to inspire others to give back, create opportunities, and help young people take pride in their own country. Kids’ passes cost $5,000 GYD for kids between the ages of 10 years old to 15 years old, but through this initiative, many school-age children will have access to the convention for free.Part of the FumaCon school tourBy providing 600 complimentary passes to students at 6 schools, we’re ensuring that young Guyanese, regardless of background or financial means, can experience the magic of FumaCon. From our free panels, special guests and giveaways to our community of vendors and performances, we’re committed to making the convention a space where everyone belongs. At its core, this initiative reflects FumaCon’s belief that creativity and culture should be accessible to all. We want every child to know that they don’t have to leave Guyana to find joy, inspiration, and community; they can find it right here at home. This initiative would not have been possible without the generous support and partnership of MODEC Guyana Inc. Their commitment to youth empowerment and community development has made it possible for FumaCon to expand access to this year’s event (Press release) The post Fueling the Future: FumaCon Initiative Donates 600 Kids’ Passes to Six Schools appeared first on News Room Guyana.
