Tom Brady had some advice for Drew Brees as he made his FOX Sports debut on Sunday. The former NFL quarterback and Super Bowl winner was announced as Fox’s latest addition to the broadcast booth following the firing of Mark Sanchez over an incident in early October.Brady was brought in to give FOX Sports debutant Brees some adviceX/ @NFLonFOXAhead of Brees’ first game calling for the network – an intriguing matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the new-look New York Giants alongside Sanchez’s former partner Adam Amin – FOX brought in Brady pre-game to ask him if he had any advice for the debutant. “I’m glad I’m not a rookie anymore, but I’d warn him of all the mistakes I made in my first year, but we’d be here for an hour,” Brady said. “So I’m not gonna tell you any of those things.“He [Brees] knows what to do. Have fun. Just enjoy yourself and don’t read all of those social media comments after.”As the FOX studio crew laughed at Brady’s comments, Brees repsonded: “We’re just gonna turn it loose baby. We gonna turn it loose.” Seven-time Super Bowl winner Brady has now been in his color commentator role at FOX for over a year, having inked a 10-year, $375 million deal in 2024, despite the challenges of also becoming a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.Future Pro Football Hall of Famer Brees, who made over $270 million during his 20-year NFL career, was previously part of NBC’s NFL coverage before the network cut ties with him in 2022 after just one year. Speaking on his return to broadcasting, the 46-year-old addressed comments he had made three years ago where he stated that he felt he could become one of the best NFL broadcasters out there. When asked whether he still felt that way, he doubled down on this claim. “Yeah, absolutely,” Brees recently told USA TODAY Sports. “I wouldn’t be doing it if I didn’t. It’s not just to scratch an itch. This is – look, I love the game, I’m passionate about the game, I feel like I’ve got so much to offer.”Terry Bradshaw not sold on Brady GOAT claimsDespite Brady being almost-unanimously regarded as the greatest NFL quarterback of all-time, legendary Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw isn’t sold on that claim, throwing shade at his FOX colleague. Drew Brees is relishing his chance to get back in the broadcasting booth after three yearsGettyHOF QB Bradshaw doesn’t believe FOX colleague Brady is the quarterback GOATGetty“People always say, ‘Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback to ever play.’ OK. Is he really? Otto Graham might be the greatest quarterback to ever play. How many titles did Otto win? Ten? Look it up,” Bradshaw said on Tim Green’s Nothing Left Unsaid podcast earlier in the week. “And Tom lost three. I was 4–0. [Joe] Montana was 4–0. Brady was 7–3. Seven minus three is four. Four, four, four — that’s how I look at it,” Bradshaw went on.“I’ve never had anyone walk up to me and say, ‘Hey Terry, how many yards did you throw for? How many touchdown passes you got?’ Not one. Not one,” Bradshaw said. “But boy, I’ve had a million of them go, ‘Hey man, where’s your rings?’”Just a week ago, Brady’s former teammate with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and FOX colleague Rob Gronkowski also fired some playful shots at Brady, labeling him ‘bitter’. Whilst Brees is calling the intriguing matchup at MetLife Stadium for Mike Kafka’s first game at the helm of the Giants following Brian Daboll’s firing last week, Brady sits alongside Kevin Burkhardt calling the NFC North showdown between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings.
