By: Express News ServiceAhmedabad | November 17, 2025 02:20 AM IST 2 min readHusband among prime suspects: Bhavnagar PoliceThe bodies of a forest official’s wife and their two children, who were reported missing since November 6, were found buried in Bhavnagar on Sunday.Police said they started the process to register a murder case in which the forest official is a prime suspect.The incident has been reported from Bharatnagar Police Station of Bhavnagar.According to police, the forest official has been identified as Shailesh Khambhla who is posted as Assistant Conservation of Forest in Bhavnagar. Khambhla had on November 7 filed a missing persons complaint with Bharatnagar police station regarding his wife Nayana (42), 13-year-old daughter and nine-year-old son.Bhavnagar district Superintendent of Police Nitesh Pandey said that the family members of Khambhla were living in Surat and had come to Bhavnagar owing to school holidays and were staying with him at government quarters.According to Pandey, during investigation on the missing persons complaint and interrogation of people living nearby and technical analysis, they got a tip off that some digging was done near the government quarters where the family was living. And on the very next day, the dug out field was allegedly filled up with sand.“Today, we got it (the filled up land) checked in the presence of the executive magistrate, forensic science laboratory officials and panch witnesses and discovered the three bodies from there. The bodies were identified by the family members (as those of Nayana and their two children),” said Pandey.Story continues below this ad“The bodies were sent for postmortem and the process to register an offence is underway.
