All Blacks could learn from the other Rugby Championship Teams

Wait 5 sec.

Specifically Argentina and South Africa ; their Fighting Spirit and Never Say Die attitude allowed them to claw back either big point deficits or big momentum swings against them in the latter stages of the match. Whereas New Zealand basically mentally collapsed the moment some adversity hit them, looking at Wellington Springbok fixture and the England match. Do the All Blacks still have a mental skills coach and do they need a new/better one? All Blacks no longer play with swagger or self-belief, they play scared, as if anytime they will get found out as imposters pretending to be a superior team and disaster will overtake them. There seems to be a frenetic energy sapping way in which they rush the game which leaves them mentally spent by the time 60 minutes comes up. They don't need an inspiring leader, they need a cool calm unflappable captain who never seems shaken nor uncertain and none of the candidates seem fit for purpose. Seems like the rot set in once all the players in the 2011-2015 leadership team left, the last one whom was Sam Whitelock. submitted by /u/lokomotor [link] [comments]
