Karnataka DGP hosts U.K. security delegation to boost tech-driven policing

Director-General and Inspector-General of Police M.A. Saleem on Tuesday hosted a high-level delegation from the United Kingdom’s Homeland Industrial Security sector at the State Police Headquarters in Bengaluru.The delegation was led by Chandru Iyer, British Deputy High Commissioner for Karnataka, and accompanied by Robert Barnes, Principal Policing and Security Advisor, U.K. Department for Business and Trade.The visiting team included representatives from nine leading U.K.-based companies specialising in forensics, cyber security, scanning and safety technologies, and crowd-management solutions.During the interaction, the companies showcased advanced products and cutting-edge innovations, highlighting emerging trends in policing and public safety technology.The discussions focused on contemporary challenges faced by law enforcement, the scope for adopting next-generation security technologies, and avenues to strengthen cooperation between the Karnataka Police and U.K. security firms.
