Miles had intended to make small talk about the investigation into the pick-pocketing ring. He expected nothing since only a few hours had passed, but that wasn’t the case. He had always known they existed, though he had no direct interaction with any. Each race had its own world, and crossing into another was difficult and time-consuming. The other races’ worlds were toxic to humans, just like Earth was toxic to them.
