(Photo: Express Archives)Sussanne Khan and Zayed Khan’s mother Zarine Khan passed away on November 7. She was 81. A few days after her death, Sussanne’s ex-husband and actor Hrithik Roshan’s mother Pinkie Roshan has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to Zarine and also recalled the ‘rare’ friendship that the two shared.Remembering her, Pinkie wrote, “A friendship very rare. A relationship very precious. Two mothers whose hearts were happy for each other and happiest when our children turned our friendship into mother of the bride and mother of the groom. Till untill destiny had its own plans.”Pinkie Roshan shared that despite Sussanne Khan and Hrithik Roshan’s divorce, their mothers chose ’empathy and compassion’. “Our children grew apart and whilst facing their toughest phase we as mothers chose empathy and compassion over bitterness and hatred,” she wrote. They parted ways 14 years after marriage. They, however, remain cordial after seperation and co-parent their sons, Hridhaan Roshan and Hrehaan Roshan.Zarine Khan passed away from a heart attack in her Juhu home on November 7. Zarine briefly pursued acting and starred in films such as Tere Ghar Ke Saamne (1963) and Ek Phool Do Mali (1969). In 1966, she married Sanjay Khan and stepped away from films. She did, however, go on to build a successful career in interior designing after marriage.
