A team of woman journalists met chairperson of the Telangana State Commission for Women, Nerella Sharada, and complained about online abuse, threats and obscene posts they are being often subjected to.The team played several video clips to the chairperson to bring the enormity of the issue home, and shared details of continual trolling, harassment and online attacks against woman scribes, from certain social media handles. The journalists alleged that the online harassment has been systematic from handles involved, which deliberately make obscene remarks, issue threats to life, and share derogatory posts and videos. Vanaja and Y. Krishna Jyothi, termed the harassment an attack on media freedom and self-esteem of woman journalists, and sought investigation into the issue and action against the handles and the persons involved.Earlier, they met the Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C.
