Now another film is going to be added to that impressive list, and that is Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling. Sony just released a new trailer for the same, and it remains to be seen whether this film can duke it out with any of the aforementioned classics.The premise of the movie is based on the life of a scientist-teacher who goes by the name of Ryland Grace. An expert in molecular biology, Grace is hired by a space agency to go into outer space, investigate why the Sun is dying, and then save the Earth and every one of its inhabitants. Begrudgingly, Grace accepts the offer, even though he has no experience as an astronaut. In the trailer, he looks like a determined and intelligent man when it comes to his own subject but an uncertain and scared individual when it comes to space. Interestingly, even though this is Grace’s first time in the space, Gosling has played an astronaut before. He played the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong, in the 2018 film First Man, directed by Damien Chazelle.Project Hail Mary is based on a book by the same name, which has been written by Andy Weir.
