By: Express News ServiceNovember 18, 2025 09:22 PM IST 2 min readHaryana appointed current MCG Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya as the new CEO of the GMDA, giving him the dual charge of leading both key Gurugram development and civic bodies.The Haryana government on Tuesday appointed 2013-batch IAS officer and current Gurgaon Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), relieving incumbent J Ganesan of the charge.An order issued by Additional Chief Secretary and Urban Local Bodies Director Chanchal Yadav stated that Dahiya will exercise the powers and duties of the GMDA CEO alongside his current responsibilities at the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), with no additional remuneration, until further notice.A GMDA official said he is likely to take office on Wednesday.This development follows the October 27 appointment of J Ganesan as CEO of both the GMDA and the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA), relieving Shyamal Misra of those roles.Dahiya’s appointment as MCG Commissioner came on May 5, amid a bureaucratic reshuffle triggered by public and political criticism over severe waterlogging during the previous monsoon season.
