Centurion University of Technology and Management vice president D.N. Rao on Saturday said that many acclaimed works in English, Spanish and other languages should be translated into Telugu to help literary enthusiasts access the ideas and perspectives of writers from around the world.Along with university Chancellor G.S.N. Raju, he released the book ‘Ee Desamegina’, written by senior writer Pulabala Venkata Prasad, at a programme on the university campus. He said that Mr. Prasad had translated the work of Jose Echegarry, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1904 for EL Gran Galeoto, which depicted the harsh lives of slaves in Spain. Mr. Rao said that translations make it easier to understand world history and the socioeconomic conditions of different periods. He felicitated Mr. Venkata Prasad, who has translated and written more than 60 books in the last two decades. University Registrar P.
