The Washington Commanders have turned to global architectural and design firm HKS to build their $3.8 billion new home.A site has already been secured with RFK Stadium, which hosted three world champion Washington teams, in the process of being demolished.The rusting shell of RFK Stadium is finally being torn downGettyHKS will act as the lead architect on the project to create a state-of-the-art domed arena within the DMV.The Dallas-based company has worked on some of the best stadiums in football, including the Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, and the Minnesota Vikings‘ HQ at U.S. Bank Stadium.“Selecting HKS as the lead architect marks a major step forward in our journey to bring the Washington Commanders home to the District,” said Commanders president Mark Clouse in a statement. “HKS has a proven track record of delivering world-class stadiums that balance design, functionality and community impact.”Per The Athletic, Commanders executives have been touring other facilities across the U.S. and worldwide in order to gain inspiration.Ahead of a Week 7 loss to the NFC East rival Cowboys, D.C. mayor Muriel E.
