For Haulice, it had always been one of her goals to attend CPCE, and after years, to now complete her training with her daughter by her side was a “miracle.”“After teaching for so many years at the private institution, I gained favor there, and I was quite comfortable. So, the transition was a little emotional. However, it was worth it. I was called ‘the mom’ by colleagues. Some of the young ladies I would have taught at the private institution; they really looked up to me,’’ she explained.Haulice London and her daughter Maria LondonHaulice admitted that there were days she felt like giving up and experienced frustration, but having her daughter by her side made it a blessing.“It was such a blessing. It was an experience that I think some people will wait a lifetime for, but God has blessed me with such an amazing blessing to pursue the educational goal with my daughter,’’ she added. The experience with her daughter by her side proved beneficial for both of them. Haulice recalled her challenges with Information Technology, but was able to overcome those with the help of her daughter.“I shared some knowledge with her because of my years of experience teaching. So, we worked hand in hand. When I was weak, she held me up. When she was weak, I held her up, and we both trusted in God, who would have taken us through,’’ she said.Despite facing negative comments from others about attending CPCE with her daughter, Haulice turned those thoughts around.“It’s actually the greatest thing a mother can ask for.”For Maria, who teaches Agricultural Science at Bygeval Secondary School, her time at CPCE was equally rewarding and challenging.“Thanks to my mother, she helped me because we were both in CPCE. This experience was a remarkable journey with my mother and me,’’ Maria said. Now both trained teachers, the mother-daughter duo continue to mould young minds in Guyana. The post West Berbice mother and daughter celebrate success as latest CPCE graduates appeared first on News Room Guyana.
