Court releases woman without bail after she attacked a Jewish family of six in Brooklyn during the Sabbath and threatened to murder the family’s children.By World Israel News StaffAn Orthodox Jewish family was attacked by a woman who threatened to murder the family’s children during an antisemitic confrontation in New York City during the Jewish Sabbath last week.According to a police complaint filed by the victims, the incident occurred in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn on Friday night when a family of six was walking down the street near Willoughby and Nostrand avenues. The six family members included a 26-year-old man, his wife, and the couple’s four children, ages six, four, two, and half a year old.As the family was walking, a woman confronted them, shouting antisemitic comments including “I’m going to kill you Jews,” and “I’m going to kill all the Jews.”The woman also threatened to murder the family’s children, saying: “I’m going to kill your kids and choke your kids.”The family initially tried to ignore the woman, who followed them for several minutes, continuing her verbal assault.“Your kids are dead tonight,” the perpetrator screamed at one point. When the woman approached the children, the father stepped in front of her, trying to distance her from his family. At that point, the woman punched the father in the head and chest. The man and his family managed to return home and notified police.Officers from the New York Police Department apprehended the woman, who was identified as Isharae Summers, 35.Authorities filed an indictment against Summers for assault, attempted assault, aggravated harassment, making threats, endangering a minor’s welfare, and four counts of hate crimes.During her arraignment on Sunday, Summers denied the charges against her and was released without bail. The Brooklyn Criminal Court rejected a request by prosecutors that Summers be held on $50,000 bail.“This is a shocking attack against a Jewish family walking home,” Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.“Every person in this city should be able to practice their faith safely, and this kind of antisemitic violence will not be tolerated in Brooklyn. The defendant is charged with hate crimes, and we will pursue full accountability.”The post Orthodox Jewish family attacked in NYC by woman threatening to strangle kids appeared first on World Israel News.
