(File Photo/AI-generated)A 41-year-old man was arrested in Gurgaon’s Hayatpur on Monday for allegedly running over a Swiggy delivery executive with his SUV multiple times following an argument over parking, police said.The incident happened on Sunday evening outside a Swiggy store at Hayatpur village near Gurgaon Sector-93, which falls under Sector-10 police station, they said.The accused, identified as Naveen Yadav (41), an Ayurveda practitioner employed at a primary health centre in Daulatabad, was arrested from Hayatpur, officials said. His SUV, a Mahindra Scorpio car, has been seized, police said.The incident was captured on CCTV, police said. In the purported clip, multiple Swiggy riders are seen at a roadside pickup point in Sector 93, waiting for their orders. A black Scorpio appears and hits a parked bike and quickly flees. The car then returns and is seen swerving towards the riders, attempting to hit them, injuring one of them — later identified as Tinku — gravely.According to the police, Tinku (43), a resident of Chandpura ki Dhani in Haryana’s Rewari, had parked his bike outside the Swiggy store.“Naveen, who lives in Bhagat Singh Colony, arrived in his Scorpio with its siren on. He hit the parked bike, and then allegedly drove over Tinku repeatedly with the intention of causing grievous harm. Tinku is currently admitted in Virendra Hospital in Rewari. In his complaint, Tinku stated that the accused allegedly first rammed into his bike, threatened to kill him, and then deliberately drove the vehicle over him two-three times, causing serious injuries,” a police spokesperson said.An FIR was registered at Sector-10 police station for attempt to murder and causing grievous hurt.Story continues below this adA probe was launched and the accused was apprehended. During questioning, the accused told police that he had developed a resentment against the delivery agents, including the victim, for allegedly parking bikes in the lane outside his house frequently that obstructed the movement of his vehicle.Investigations are still underway, police also said.
