The 1991-batch IPS officer of Bihar cadre was sworn in on Friday.As per the Central Vigilance Commission Act, 2003, the commission has a Central Vigilance Commissioner and two Vigilance Commissioners. The Vigilance Commissioners have a term of four years or till they reach the age of 65 years.Vashista was posted as Special Secretary (Internal Security) in December 2024 and his retirement was due in July this year.
