India now has the world’s second-largest 5G subscriber base, after China, with over 400 million users, making it one of the fastest adopters globally, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said. Since its 2022 launch, 5G services cover 99.6% of the country, reaching 85% of the population, supported by 4.69 lakh 5G base stations.
