Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Executive Director Nyombi Thembo has thanked residents of Kasanda and all Ugandans for what he described as rejecting opposition “propaganda” and standing firmly with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) during the recently concluded general elections.Nyombi made the remarks in Kasanda, where he hosted a victory party to celebrate President Yoweri Museveni’s re-election. The gathering drew local leaders, party supporters, and community members who turned out to mark the NRM’s electoral success in the area.Addressing the crowd, Nyombi praised voters for what he called resilience in the face of intimidation and misinformation during the campaign period.“I thank you for remaining focused and not being misled by propaganda,” Nyombi said. “You chose stability and development by voting NRM.”He also commended the community for maintaining peace throughout the election season, noting that Kasanda remained calm while other parts of the country experienced tension.“You demonstrated maturity and patriotism by keeping peace before, during, and after the elections,” he said, adding that the overwhelming vote for the ruling party reflected trust in President Museveni’s leadership.Nyombi assured residents that the new presidential term would prioritize wealth creation and economic empowerment at the grassroots level.
