The Ministry of Finance has already issued a notification stating that the additional excise duty on cigarettes will be effective from February 1. According to the notification, the government imposed additional excise duty on cigarettes in the range of Rs 2,050 to Rs 8,500 per 1,000 sticks, depending on the length and type of the product.
