As well as other types of birds...my dad has raised pigeons since he was a kid (so like 60+ years now). A few years back, he took in some birds from an acquaintance who was no longer able to keep them...turned out they had some sort of virus, which quickly spread through the entire coop. He ended up losing about 50 birds altogether.
