Highest maximum temperature in the state was 20.7°C at Sri Anandpur Sahib and the lowest minimum was 0°C at Ballowal Saunkhri.In Haryana, the average maximum temperature increased by 0.5°C, but stayed 3.8°C below normal. Highest maximum temperature: 22.8°C at Palwal. Lowest minimum temperature: 1.4°C at Canal Rest House Saragthal in Sonipat.In Chandigarh, the maximum temperature was recorded at 15.2°C (3°C below normal), while the minimum dropped to 2.8°C, about 4°C below normal.Very dense fog was reported in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Faridkot, Ballowal Saunkhri, Chandigarh, Ambala, Hisar, Karnal and Bhiwani. Dense fog was observed in Gurdaspur, leading to reduced visibility and traffic disruptions.According to the five-day weather forecast in Punjab (January 14–18), weather is expected to remain mainly dry. Dense to very dense fog likely during night and morning hours at many places. Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions to continue in several districts.
