Written by Manish SahuVaranasi | September 17, 2025 07:15 AM IST 1 min readVaranasi Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal visited the hospital to meet them (X/@varanasipolice)A police sub-inspector and constable were allegedly assaulted by a group of lawyers on a court premises in Varanasi on Tuesday, after a lawyer and his rivals were booked for breach-of-peace in a land dispute case, police said.According to police, the injured police personnel were admitted to a hospital, where doctors said their condition was stable.Varanasi Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal visited the hospital to meet them, officials said.Assistant Commissioner of Police Nitin Taneja said CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the assailants.Police said that when the two injured cops reached the court on Tuesday, a group of lawyers allegedly surrounded them and began asking for thier names and details of thier posting.
